Gatekeeping
We’ve launched an exciting new feature that many of you have been looking forward to: Gatekeeping!
Not every return deserves a return label. With Gatekeeping, our latest Returnista feature, you decide per request:
return or no return — free or paid — label or no label.
The result? More control and fewer unnecessary costs.
✅ What can you do with Gatekeeping?
- Manually approve or decline return requests
- Offer free or paid returns (based on customer or product type)
- Block returns entirely (for example, for low-value items)
- Require customers to upload photos — useful for defects or damage
➡️ This way, you get better information upfront and avoid expensive, unnecessary return shipments.

🔧 Want to activate Gatekeeping? Here is how:
- Log in to your Returnista dashboard
- Click on Store settings in the left menu
- Go to the dashboard Gatekeeping
- Set your preference rules — and you're done!
