1) Hi Guus! Could you tell us who you are and what you do?
Hello, my name is Guus Brinkman. I work as the Head of Data & Tech at Stoov.
I started here two years ago as a growth hacker and one of the first employees. Since then, we’ve grown significantly to nearly 20 employees.
This has meant my role has changed as well. I’m now responsible for the Data & Tech team: we ensure the entire company is provided with the right data so we can make data-driven decisions.
In addition, my team is responsible for our tech stack. We decide which tools and systems to use so we can improve and expand our data and tech infrastructure.
You could say that my team and I are responsible for being the voice of our customers. Based on data and customer feedback, we ensure the company remains customer-centric.
2) What is one thing that excites you about the e-commerce industry right now?
I like how sustainability in e-commerce is becoming increasingly important.
The mindset is shifting; consumers demand and expect a certain level of sustainability, and it is having a greater influence on their purchasing decisions.
Consumers are becoming more knowledgeable, forcing companies to be more transparent and to do more than just obtain a certification. Companies have to be transparent about what they are doing for sustainability, but also about where they still have room for improvement.
